Terms and Conditions for Lactation Consultation Services
Hannah Holland IBCLC- Sole Trader Lactation Consultant
1. Definitions

Consultant: Refers to Hannah Holland IBCLC, a private lactation consultant operating as a sole trader.

Client: Refers to the individual(s) receiving the service (mother/parent/guardian).

Consultation: Refers to the agreed-upon services, including the Initial Consultation, Review Consultation, and all associated follow-up support.
2. Scope of Services
The Consultant agrees to provide clinical breastfeeding support and advice to the Client with reasonable care and skill.

Initial Home Consultation: 90 minutes in the Client's home. Includes a full history, clinical assessment, observation of a feed, a written care plan, and ongoing email/messaging support for 14 days following the consultation.

Revisit Consultation: 60 minutes in the Client's home, available for Clients who have completed an Initial Consultation.

Follow-Up Support: The 14 days of messaging support is intended for clarification of the care plan and brief check-ins. It is not a substitute for a full clinical review. The Consultant reserves the right to recommend a paid Review Consultation if the complexity of the issue warrants it.

Phone messaging support package: 2 weeks of messaging support via Whatsapp or text messages. Messages will be responded to between hours of 9am and 7pm, guaranteed response withing 12 hours of messaging received.
3. Fees and Payment
Service Duration Fee Included Support
Initial Consultation: up to 90 minutes £135 plus 14 days of messaging support
Revisit Consultation: up to 60 minutes £80

Payment Terms: Full prepayment is required to confirm and secure the Consultation at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled time. Failure to pay may result in the appointment being offered to another client.

Travel Costs: The quoted fees include travel within a 20-mile radius of Sandhurst, Berkshire GU47. Consultations outside this area will incur an additional charge of 50p per mile, agreed upon prior to booking.

Late Payment: If a payment plan is agreed for a separate service, late payment fees may apply as outlined in the individual agreement.
4. Cancellation and Refunds Policy
This policy compensates the Consultant for the loss of business from reserved time slots and accounts for travel and preparation time.

Client Cancellation:

More than 24 hours’ notice: Full refund.

Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the fee retained; 50% refunded.

No Show: Full fee retained.

Consultant Cancellation:

In the event of illness or emergency, a full refund will be offered, or the Client may reschedule at the earliest mutually convenient time.

5. Consultant Punctuality and Delays

The Consultant will aim to arrive promptly. However, delays may occur due to traffic or preceding consultations.

A 15-minute arrival window will be provided, and the Consultant will notify the Client if delayed beyond this.

If delayed, the Consultation will be extended to ensure the full allotted time is provided.
6. Client Consent and Responsibility

By booking, the Client gives informed consent for the Consultant to conduct the Consultation, which may include physical assessment and breastfeeding observation.

The Client agrees to provide accurate health information for themselves and their baby.

Non-Medical Advice: The Consultant provides specialist lactation support, not medical care. Clients should consult their GP, Midwife, or other healthcare professionals for medical concerns.

The Consultant is not liable for outcomes resulting from the Client disregarding medical advice.

Privacy will be maintained in accordance with the IBLCE Code of Ethics and UK GDPR.
7. Data Protection and Confidentiality (GDPR)

The Consultant is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and complies with UK data protection law. Please see privacy policy.

Clinical notes and personal data will be stored securely for the legally required period.

Information may be shared with healthcare providers only with the Client’s explicit consent, if deemed necessary for collaborative care.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England.
